Would you like to facilitate a peer support group for people who hear voices, see visions, have unusual beliefs or paranoia?
Lancashire Care’s Early Intervention in Psychosis Team is bringing the Hearing Voices Network to Lancashire to establish a network of Hearing Voices / Paranoia / Unusual Beliefs Groups.
The course, facilitated by Rai Waddingham, will take place over 4 days, and equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to set up and facilitate a new group.

About The Course
Hearing Voices and Paranoia Groups offer people the space to share, and make sense of, their experiences without fear of judgement.
There are over 180 Hearing Voices Groups in the UK, in a range of settings – including charities, user/survivor-led groups, prisons, inpatient units, CAMHS, EIP services, prisons and CMHTs.
This 4 day training course equips you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to set up a new Hearing Voices or Paranoia/Unusual Beliefs Group.
Topics include:
- Understanding voices, visions & ‘psychosis’
- Making sense of unusual beliefs/paranoia
- Coping strategies and pathways to recovery
- Rethinking power & empowerment
- Hearing Voices Network ethos
- Planning, launching & establishing safe and effective Hearing Voices Groups
- Practical group facilitation skills and problem solving
This course is suitable for: anyone intending to facilitate a Hearing Voices or Paranoia Group, whether they have experience gained from personal experience, training and/or profession.
Whilst it is funded by Lancashire Care’s Early Intervention in Psychosis Service, they encourage applications from others who would also like to set up a Hearing Voices Group. This may include other statutory, commercial or voluntary sector organisations. People with lived experience of psychosis, hearing voices, visions and/or unusual beliefs, who would like to facilitate a peer support group are welcome.

Fees
This course is FREE to staff and service users from Lancashire Early Intervention Service.
They welcome applications from other people & organisations. For those not part of Lancashire EIS, the fee is £350 for the 4 day training course.
