Participants Wanted: The Role of Adverse Experiences and Early Relationships in Psychosis

August 8, 2015 | News

Josie from Lancaster University has asked us to share this research request with you. She is looking for people who identity as having experiences related to psychosis to fill in an online survey. If you have any questions about the research, please contact Josie directly. Her details can be found on the study information page: https://lancasteruni.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_0w8OfPUPqy3Ffmt

The role of adverse experiences and early relationships in psychosis

If you have, at some point in your life had any experiences related to psychosis, I would like to invite you to take part in my research by completing an online survey.

I am carrying out this research because I would like to find out more about experiences such as hearing voices, unusual beliefs and paranoid thoughts. We already know that adverse life experiences increase the risk of developing experiences like these, and in my study I would like to also explore what impact our early relationships have.

What will I be asked to do if I take part?

You will be asked to complete an online survey and your answers will be anonymous.

The survey will ask you questions related to experiences of trauma, questions about your relationships, about unusual experiences, and about any distress, anxiety or low mood.

If you choose to, you can enter your email address and be entered in to a prize draw where you will have the chance of winning a £50 Amazon Voucher!

If you would like to find out more about the study or would like to take part please click in the following link:

Often, a helpful aid to #Talkingwithvoices, is to show a voice this feelings & needs sheet and ask them to choose words that best describe how they feel and what they need. It's also good for the voice hearers to do about their feelings & needs #NVC #hearingvoices #VoicedDialogue

Have you ever been labelled with schizophrenia and told that your experiences are 'resistant to treatment'?

Are you over 18 years old and living in the UK?

Contact me on u1945526@uel.ac.uk to discuss participation in my research. Thanks!
