To get ideas for, and feed into, our upcoming HVN Film Night on Friday 22 May (8-9.30pm UK time), we want to know what films you know feature voices, visions or other extreme states. We will be showing clips from a shortlist of films and choosing our ‘film night award winners’ with the help of an audience vote on the night.

Whether you’re a film buff, or an occasional viewer – it’d be great if you could fill out our polls below. The first one is your chance to list all the films you’re aware of. The other ones are there to get a sense of which films stand out to you as interesting, accurate, stigma-busting or stigma-increasing.

We’ve started you off with a few examples … but please add your own too. We want these lists to grow 🙂

List all the films you know about that feature voices, visions or extreme states

Please add extra examples to the list! If you want to say more about the films you add, just add a comment to this post. We want to hear about the good, the bad and the quirky. We’re happy to hear about films that are meant to feature voices/visions, as well as those that take a more symbolic or metaphorical route.

Which films do you think have the most stigma-increasing portrayal?

This might include films which you feel add to the stigma, discrimination, misinformation and prejudice that can surround voices, visions and extreme states. The kind of films you wish the team had come and spoken to people who hear voices first (to stop them getting it so badly wrong).
